Would It Help If…?
One of the questions I find myself asking clients quite often is:
“Would it help if…?”
It’s a simple question, but I think it can change the way you approach buying or selling a home.
Instead of assuming I know exactly what you need, I’d rather ask questions and find out what would actually make things easier for you.
“Would it help if I gave you an idea of what your home is worth?”
Maybe you’re not ready to sell.
That’s okay.
Sometimes you just want to know where you stand.
Knowing what your home could potentially sell for can help you understand your options, your equity and what your next move might look like.
“Would it help if we talked about what you could do to get more for your home?”
Not every renovation makes financial sense before selling.
Sometimes it’s a fresh coat of paint.
Sometimes it’s decluttering.
Sometimes it’s doing absolutely nothing.
I can help you look at your home through a buyer’s eyes and decide where your time and money are best spent.
“Would it help if I showed you what’s actually selling in your neighbourhood?”
Your neighbour’s asking price isn’t necessarily your home’s value.
What matters is what buyers are actually willing to pay.
Looking at recent sales, current competition and market conditions can give you a much clearer picture.
“Would it help if I connected you with someone who could help with your financing?”
Maybe the down payment is your biggest obstacle.
Maybe you’re unsure what you can afford.
Maybe you simply want to understand your options before you start looking.
I’m not a financial advisor or mortgage broker — and I don’t pretend to be.
But I can help connect you with the right professionals so you can get the answers you need.
“Would it help if I helped you figure out your next move before we put your house on the market?”
Selling first and then figuring out where you’re going can create a lot of stress.
Sometimes the better strategy is to understand your options first.
What can you afford?
Where do you want to go?
What happens if your home sells quickly?
What happens if it takes longer?
Planning ahead can make the entire process smoother.
“Would it help if I took some of the work off your plate?”
This is probably the biggest one.
Real estate can involve a lot of moving pieces.
Showings. Offers. Negotiations. Inspections. Financing. Lawyers. Moving dates. Contractors. Clean-up. Paperwork.
My goal is to take as much of that off your plate as I can.
Because you’re already busy enough.
So, what would help you?
Maybe you need to know what your home is worth.
Maybe you need a plan to get your home ready to sell.
Maybe you need help finding a buyer for your current home before you purchase another one.
Maybe you need to figure out how to make the down payment work.
Or maybe you simply have a question you’ve been putting off because you’re not sure who to ask.
Ask me.
You don’t have to be ready to buy or sell.
You don’t have to have all the answers.
And you certainly don’t have to have everything figured out before we talk.
Sometimes the best place to start is simply with a question.
“Would it help if…?”
And then we figure out the answer together.
